What Can I Expect?

When skiing Les Menuires you are guaranteed snow cover with more than 50 per cent of the runs covered by snow making machines. At an altitude of 2850 metres there is plenty of natural powder snow available from November to March just waiting for you to carve it up. On the west facing aspect of the mountain, there are excellent runs for beginners and intermediate level skiers. Many of the runs take you past quaint shepherd’s huts while heading down into the valley. For more advanced skiers looking for a challenge on the slopes, the eastern side of the mountain is the place to head. For expert skiers dropping down from the Pointe de la Masse offers equal measures of challenge and fun. There is also a great deal of off-piste skiing to be had for advanced skiers and snowboarders. Although it is a popular winter ski resort, it rarely feels crowded thanks to the vastness of the location. In the Les Menuires ski resort section alone there are 6 green runs for beginners, 23 blue runs and 24 red runs for intermediate skiers, and 8 black runs for experienced skiers.

What about the Snowboarders?

Besides skiing at Les Menuires, there are plenty of other winter sports and activities that you can take part in or join classes in. Snowboarders will be excited to rip it up on the resort half pipe and explore the possibilities of the snow park. The award-winning snow park has recently been updated to make it more accessible for boarders of all ages and ability levels. A few of the elements included in the park are a border cross with attached freestyle zone; jumps and several rails including a rainbow; and an easy box and flat descent. For a change of pace from skiing Les Menuires why not try out some of the other activities that are offered at the resort? Experience the surrounds at high speed on skidoos, take snowshoeing classes or go cross country skiing into the surrounding countryside.
